"Fanaticism and ignorance are forever busy and need feeding. And soon, with banners flying and with drums beating we'll be marching backward. Backward!...Through the glorious ages of that 16th century when bigots burned those who dared bring enlightenment and intelligence to the human mind." - Henry Drummond (a.k.a Clarence Darrow) speaks of The Dark Side of Humanity in Inherit the Wind

The Creationism Movement In Washington State

Unbeknownst to most citizens, Washington State has been experiencing a flurry of grassroots creationist activism. Incidents range from simple church and private school lectures, to attempts to sway schoolboards and pass legislation in Olympia.

The yellow counties you see in the above map chronicles some of the incidents that have occurred. If you have encountered creationist activity in your own county, we invite you to contact us, and the National Center for Science Education.
